What does “We’re currently filtering out prospects that can’t be targeted with this campaign” mean?

When you see the message “We’re currently filtering out prospects that can’t be targeted with this campaign,” it means TweetDM is making sure your campaign only includes leads that are actually reachable.

🔍 What’s happening behind the scenes?

When you launch a campaign, our system goes through a two-step filtering process to keep your outreach clean and effective:

  1. Exclusion Check

    • We remove any prospect that are part of your excluded lists.

    • These might be previous leads, existing customers, or any segment you’ve marked to exclude.

  2. DM Eligibility Check

    • From the remaining users, we automatically detect who can receive direct messages (DMs).

    • Anyone with DMs closed or restricted will be filtered out — so you don’t waste any DMS.

✅ No action needed from your side

This filtering is fully automatic and happens in the background. Once the check is complete, your campaign will proceed with only the valid, reachable leads.

If you ever feel like too many users are being filtered out, we recommend:

  • Double-checking your excluded lists

  • Making sure your original audience is large enough

  • Using our prospecting tools to find more leads or import a list using other tools.
